For ages, people have argued whether being an emotionalist or a rationalist is better. But as you will see in this video they are "strange bedfellows". Emotional bias does exist in rational decision making, but without any emotion, your decisions will end up being a disadvantage, and though you may not think it, your rationality is driven by your emotion. Emotion and reason cannot be separated from each other.
I learned a lot from this short video, Zoya! Thank you for posting it. I was especially interested by the idea of heuristics - or experienced-based decision making or problem solving. The idea that we usually just make decisions/solve problems in the same way as we made or solved them before - even if the outcome was not always good, or the decision is irrational - shows how much we are programmed by our brain circuitry. The other part of this video I found intriguing, is the idea of framing. Two identical choices are made more or less appealing simply by the way they are 'framed'. Emotional factors are certainly weighing in heavily here too. Fascinating stuff!
